Broadcaster Song Pil-geun recalled his battle with necrotizing pancreatitis.
On the 25th, Song Pil-geun appeared on the YouTube channel 'Wiracle' and said, "Necrotizing pancreatitis is one of the most severe forms of inflammation. It's a disease where parts of the organs dissolve," adding, "When the organs dissolve, it really hurts. Even painkillers don't work for long. All you can do is wait until the necrosis stops."
He continued, "For three months, I couldn't eat rice and only received IV fluids. I lost 35kg. Of course, I lost weight, but I also lost muscle. The inflammation level is normal at 0.5, but mine was 36 for three months. No matter how many antibiotics I was given, it wouldn't go down," recalling the difficult times.
He also mentioned, "The doctor called my wife separately and said, 'This week is critical. There is a high possibility he won't survive. The risk of death from sepsis is significant.'

Song Pil-geun said that miraculously, after three months, the necrosis stopped. He explained, "The doctor said, 'Now we need to operate,' so I underwent surgery. The dissolved fluid from the organs was accumulating like ascites. They used laparoscopic surgery, making eight holes to remove it, but if they couldn't remove it all, they would have to make an incision. As expected, there was too much, so they made a 20cm incision below and the surgery lasted about five and a half hours. They rinsed it out with saline about eight times."
"After a few days of recovery, my face finally started to regain color. Before that, my eyes were yellow, and I had jaundice. I received a full recovery diagnosis after a year," he said, adding, "I really think I married well; my wife is a strong person. It felt like 'I'm not going to die!' She spent months sleeping next to me, saying, 'Oppa, it feels like we're camping.' That gave me strength and helped me avoid falling into depression," expressing gratitude towards his wife.
Song Pil-geun debuted as a comedian in KBS's 27th class in 2012. He gained popularity through program segments like 'Nom Nom Nom' and 'Let It Be,' and is currently bringing laughter to viewers with 'Knowing Songs.' Additionally, he released a new song 'Knowing Songs' last month. In 2021, he married his girlfriend, a bank employee who is four years younger.
