Trot singer Go Jung-woo reveals his heartbreaking life story, including a time when he wrote a suicide note and attempted to make an extreme choice.
On the upcoming episode of MBN 'Oh Eun-young Stay' airing on the 28th, 'Grandson of the Sea' Go Jung-woo will appear as a guest.
He begins by saying, "After my parents divorced when I was two, my only family was my grandmother," and calmly shares, "My grandmother was my friend, my mom, my wife, and my whole world." He also confesses that he lost his home due to a relative's wrongful guarantee and lived in an abandoned house supported by a metal pipe.
In particular, Go Jung-woo had to enter the workforce to support his grandmother, who became paralyzed from the waist down since he was in 2nd grade. He shares the heartbreaking experience of suffering from arthritis at a young age and even collapsing from overwork.
Go Jung-woo reveals, "I thought, what sins have I committed to live like this? Eventually, I suffered from depression and made the extreme choice to jump into the sea," shocking everyone. He also shares that he is still taking medication for depression, stating, "When I close my eyes, all sorts of thoughts come to me, and I feel anxious."
When Go Jung-woo recounts the last conversation he had with his grandmother before her passing, Dr. Oh Eun-young and Go So-young are moved to tears, creating a somber atmosphere.
In particular, when Go Jung-woo mentions the food he misses most that his grandmother used to make, Go So-young goes into the kitchen to carefully recreate the dish as a special surprise, amplifying the emotional impact.
