Karina, a member of the girl group aespa, directly addressed the political color controversy that arose during the 21st presidential election period.

On the 6th, Karina appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel 'Fairy Jae-hyung'.

Karina began, "There was a recent issue. I hoped that not only I but everyone around me could live without any trouble..." She continued, "I had no such intention at all, so I wanted to talk about it," adding, "The fans worried too much. I'm sorry."

On May 27, Karina posted on SNS wearing a red outfit with the number 2 during the 21st presidential election period, which sparked controversy over whether she was supporting a specific political party candidate.

Recalling that time, she explained, "I went out with the staff, and it was chilly, so I bought an outerwear. I posted to communicate with fans, but after receiving contact, I deleted it. I was very ignorant. No matter how much I am abroad, there are things I should know."

Karina also expressed, "I thought, 'I need to be more aware and study.' It was indeed very ignorant of me," adding, "Since I threw out a topic, I have to bear the consequences. But it was really hard to see the members getting hurt, and I feel very sorry for them."

Previously, Karina quickly deleted the photo after posting it. Her agency, SM Entertainment, explained, "Karina only posted a daily life content on SNS, and there was no other purpose or intention at all," and "After realizing that there could be misunderstandings, she deleted the post immediately. We sincerely apologize for causing any concern unintentionally."

However, Lee Soo-jung, the chairman of the Suwon branch of the People Power Party, and Baek Ji-won, the spokesperson for the Central Election Countermeasure Committee of the People Power Party, drew attention by publicly supporting Karina with phrases like "If you touch Karina, you all die" and "SHOUT OUT TO."
