The photoshoot of actor Park Hyung-sik has been revealed.
The magazine 'Singles' has unveiled a photoshoot featuring Park Hyung-sik, who is set to make a bold acting transformation in the drama 'Treasure Island.' In the released photos, Park Hyung-sik exudes a strong atmosphere with sharp eyes and a cold expression.
Park Hyung-sik will meet viewers as the ambitious hacker Seo Dong-joo in the SBS drama 'Treasure Island,' which is scheduled to premiere on February 14. In a previously released teaser video, Park Hyung-sik hinted at a dramatic acting transformation with a completely different coldness and dark aura compared to his previous image, raising expectations.
Regarding this project, Park Hyung-sik stated, "I believe that each of us has our own treasure island. However, when my treasure island is at risk of being taken away by others, it shows how fierce, mean, and ruthless one can become. In that process, incidents arise from the clash of personal desires and ambitions. While filming this project, I thought a lot about what my treasure island is and what I should aim for in life."
Park Hyung-sik expects this project to be a turning point in his acting career. He shared, "I thought there might be a fixed perception or image of me as an actor. So when this project came in, I was very curious and grateful to know what the director saw in me. Showing various sides is the calling of an actor, but it’s not easy to find such projects at the right timing. However, after serving in the military and as I got older, I felt that I could finally show a new side of myself."
On the character Seo Dong-joo, Park Hyung-sik explained, "(Seo Dong-joo) is an arrogant person with a special memory called photomemory. He is confident and uses his abilities to realize his ambitions. However, he is smart but not wise, which sometimes leads him into a corner."
Regarding his goals and direction as an actor, he said, "Like James McAvoy in M. Night Shyamalan's film 'Split,' I want to break my fixed image and become an actor who transcends it. I found the portrayal of multiple personalities in 'Split' truly amazing. I hope to be an actor who constantly pursues newness. I feel most alive and find it most enjoyable when I push myself to broaden the framework of my experiences and emotions."
