Broadcaster Yoon Jung-soo reminisces about his mother, who passed away 10 years ago.
In the episode of TV Chosun's 'Lover of Joseon' airing on the 22nd, Yoon Jung-soo says, "This is the dress my mother used to wear. I wanted to burn one every year during the ritual. It makes me think of her more..." as he introduces his mother's belongings neatly hung in plastic in the closet. He continues, "It feels too much like my mom, and it smells like her, so I thought, 'I shouldn't burn it,' and kept it well," revealing the reason he has kept his mother's clothes like new even after more than 10 years since her passing.
The VCR included a photo of Yoon Jung-soo warmly embracing his mother, who was his only family 10 years ago, and an article detailing his experience caring for his mother who had dementia. The loving MCs empathized with the story and were deeply moved. Yoon Jung-soo concluded the introduction of his mother's belongings room by saying, "This room contains many memories of the life we shared."
Later, the production team asked Yoon Jung-soo, "Do you think of your mother as you approach marriage?" Yoon Jung-soo replied, "I mainly think of her when I do things we used to do together, especially when it's something good." He added, "(My fiancée) likes events. Going on trips or eating delicious food... I wish she were here with us now..." expressing his longing for his mother. Yoon Jung-soo also shared, "Not all sons are like this, but I feel like I haven't been able to do many fun things, so I feel sorry," conveying his regrets. When the production team comforted him by saying, "You were busy," Yoon Jung-soo smiled bitterly and said, "It sounds like an excuse... but being busy doesn't mean I couldn't do it."
After losing his mother and standing alone for 10 years, Yoon Jung-soo's affectionate newlywed life with his new family will be revealed in 'Lover of Joseon.'
