Lee Min-woo, a member of the group Shinhwa, has decided to adopt his fiancée's 6-year-old daughter.

In the episode of KBS2's 'Salimhanun Namjadeul Season 2' aired on the 11th, Lee Min-woo and his fiancée were seen going through the marriage registration process.

On that day, Lee Min-woo visited the community center with his fiancée and daughter to apply for his fiancée's resident registration card. When he asked if both of them could appear on the family relationship certificate, the staff replied, "The child is currently your fiancée's child and not Lee Min-woo's child. Therefore, you need to go through the adoption process for the child."

The staff added, "Since the two of you are not the child's parents, if you register your marriage and adopt, you can obtain a family relationship certificate as spouses and parents."

In response, Lee Min-woo consulted with Lee In-cheol, a family law specialist, to ask how he could legally become a family with his daughter. Before the formal consultation began, when the lawyer said he would separate the daughter for a moment, Lee Min-woo revealed, "My daughter has a bit of separation anxiety," surprising everyone.

However, the daughter moved to the next room to wait after being persuaded by her fiancée.

Later, the lawyer explained to Lee Min-woo, "The most certain way to become a family with your daughter is through adoption. The relationship that will be newly established with Lee Min-woo as the adoptive parent is a general adoption. Also, a stepchild adoption means that the legal relationship with the biological father is terminated and a new father is established."

Listening to the explanation, Lee Min-woo chose stepchild adoption. At this time, the lawyer said, "To proceed with stepchild adoption, the consent of the biological father is required," and asked whether sufficient child support had been provided and if visitation had taken place.

The fiancée answered, "No," and the lawyer explained, "In exceptional cases, stepchild adoption can be granted without the biological father's consent," suggesting that they should provide an explanation.

In response, the fiancée showed tears, possibly recalling a difficult time in the past.

Lee Min-woo's fiancée is a third-generation Korean resident in Japan who is currently raising a 6-year-old daughter. It has been confirmed that she is expecting a second child with Lee Min-woo.
