In a legal dispute over unpaid settlement amounts involving rapper BE‘O, the court ruled in favor of his current agency.

On the 26th, the Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court ruled against Fameus Entertainment, BE‘O's former agency, in a lawsuit filed against Big Planet Made Entertainment regarding a contractual payment.

As a result, the costs of the lawsuit will be fully borne by the plaintiff, Fameus.

This lawsuit began when Big Planet Made claimed 'offset' based on the fact that BE‘O's past settlement payments were not made, and the court accepted all of these claims. It has been legally recognized that Fameus failed to pay settlement amounts amounting to at least several hundred million won.

Fameus is a hip-hop label led by singer San, and BE‘O ended his exclusive contract with Fameus in February 2023.

Afterward, BE‘O signed an exclusive contract with Big Planet Made, which stated last May, "We are proceeding with the legal dispute regarding BE‘O's unpaid settlement with Fameus," and "We learned about Fameus's unpaid settlements when we signed an exclusive contract with BE‘O."

Big Planet Made claimed, "We contracted to distribute the remaining amount after deducting costs from the revenue, but Fameus divided the total revenue by a certain percentage and deducted all costs from BE‘O's share before payment."

BE‘O also stated in a live broadcast, "I was not properly settled by my previous company. I suffered greatly because of that for a long time," and added, "Since joining the current company, they have fought for me."

On the other hand, Fameus Entertainment's representative San criticized, "After three years of investment, when things were going well after re-signing, they demanded to terminate the contract, failed to fulfill schedules, and said they never contacted other agencies."

He also pointed out that the payment of royalties for overseas producers of BE‘O's songs should take priority, saying, "Is it that Big Planet receives the money but Fameus has to resolve the royalties?"
