Top star IU made headlines with a surprise visit to the 'Poksak Sogassuda' art exhibition and even flexed with gifts.
On the 19th, IU visited an exhibition featuring paintings by Jeju halmae artists related to the Netflix series 'Poksak Sogassuda', and her visit quickly spread online.
Previously, despite her busy schedule, IU met with the Jeju halmae and shared a post saying, "I came to keep my promise to the Jeju painting halmae artists," revealing her enjoyment of the exhibition. The exhibition organizers posted several photos of IU along with the caption, "Aesoon has returned to Jeju."
The exhibition organizers stated, "She came to keep her promise as the character of Gwangrye-dol," adding, "The Seonheul painting studio is a haven for halmae, with an average age of 87, who have transitioned from farmers to artists. Aesoon, who intended to quietly view the exhibition, appeared like Santa carrying a bundle of gifts."
They continued, "With open arms, she embraced the grandmothers in solidarity. This act is seen as keeping a promise and renewing loyalty. Aesoon laid a silk scarf on the path of the painting halmae and personally draped a magical cloak over their shoulders."
On that day, IU, who chose a companion painting bag, carefully admired paintings of the official and sunflowers, and prepared letters and gifts for the halmae.
In particular, the scarf that IU personally prepared and gave to the halmae was a luxury Hermès scarf, which drew even more attention.
