NewJeans' Daniel made her first official appearance after the dismissal of the injunction. Notably, she attended the event alongside her agency Ador, which is currently in a contract dispute.
On the 18th, Daniel attended the 'Omega Aqua Terra 30mm Launch Global Event' in Kyoto, Japan, celebrating the launch of a new product from the Swiss watch brand Omega.
What caught attention was that Ador staff accompanied her to the event. This was particularly noteworthy as it was the first official appearance following the court's dismissal of the injunction filed by NewJeans members regarding the preservation of Ador's status as a planning agency and the prohibition of signing advertising contracts on the 17th.
There were speculations that the two sides had reconciled, but this was confirmed to be untrue. It is reported that NewJeans continued to work on scheduled advertising projects with Ador even after notifying them of the contract termination.
In November of last year, NewJeans held an emergency press conference to announce the termination of their exclusive contract with Ador and declared their intention to pursue independent activities under the new name NJZ. In response, Ador filed a lawsuit at the Seoul Central District Court to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract, and subsequently filed for an injunction.
While NewJeans' injunction appeal was dismissed, the main lawsuit is still ongoing. During the second hearing of the exclusive contract validity confirmation lawsuit held on the 4th, NewJeans' legal representative stated, “We believe we have crossed a river that cannot be returned,” clearly expressing their intention not to work with Ador.
