Trot singer Jung Dong-won has taken on the challenge of cooking for his dog.
On the 19th, a video titled 'Dog Dad's Parenting Diary' was released on Jung Dong-won's YouTube channel. Jung Dong-won announced that he would "make a homemade meal" for his dog.
Jung Dong-won went to the supermarket to buy cooking ingredients and expressed his surprise at the checkout, saying, "It came out to 450,000 won." After returning home, he was flustered, saying, "I never imagined it would be that much," but immediately began cooking for his dog.
Jung Dong-won explained, "I will try to make it while looking at the recipe. This is my first time. I've never done it before. I usually feed them products that are already made." He also mentioned that he had never cooked for himself at home either.
Jung Dong-won said, "This is my first time cooking in the kitchen. I've never done it before. It's a truly historic day. I don't even have a container. I don't have a cutting board," as he flipped a pot and tried to place the ingredients on it to cut. The production team suggested, "Try opening the drawer," and Jung Dong-won, while saying, "There really isn't anything," rummaged through the drawer and pulled out a new cutting board that was tucked away in a corner.
Jung Dong-won mentioned, "Teddy eats well, but Bear won't even touch it if it doesn't taste good. If Bear eats it, that means I'm a good cook," referring to his goal for the day. He also joked, "These days, people say dogs are living the good life. Teddy and Bear are really lucky," adding a light-hearted touch.
While cutting the ingredients, Jung Dong-won said, "I need to put it in the blender and blend it all," but the production team advised against it, saying, "If you blend it all, it will fall through the steamer." Jung Dong-won was taken aback, asking, "Do I blend it after boiling it?"
With the help of the production team, he continued cooking smoothly, and Jung Dong-won remarked, "(Home-cooked meals) don't really save money. The cost of buying ingredients and making it is similar to just buying it. Honestly, it's tastier than eating at my grandmother's house," which brought laughter.
The first dish Jung Dong-won made was well-received by the dogs, and he expressed, "I'm proud," but also noted, "450,000 won was a bit excessive," sharing his thoughts.
