Singer Son Bin-ah has been appointed as the official ambassador for Yeonam University of Science and Technology.
Yeonam University of Science and Technology (President Ahn Seung-kwon) announced on the 20th, “We are appointing Son Bin-ah, a graduate of our 31st class and a singer who reached ‘Seon (善)’ on TV Chosun’s ‘Mr. Trot 3’, as our official ambassador.”
This appointment was made following the successful hosting of the ‘Yeonam University - Son Bin-ah Open Concert with the Community’ held on May 23 at the Yeonam Future Hall special stage.
At the recent concert, Son Bin-ah actively communicated with the audience through a sincere performance and candid interviews, attended by about 1,000 people including current students, faculty, and local residents.
In particular, a VCR video capturing her memories as a graduate, audience members' hand-held sign performances, coffee trucks, and photo zones added to the festive atmosphere of the Seodang Daedong Festival at Yeonam University.
Along with her appointment as ambassador, Son Bin-ah also donated 10 million won in scholarships for current students at Yeonam University. This scholarship will be awarded to students with dreams and passion, and the scholarship presentation ceremony was held simultaneously with the appointment ceremony, adding a warm touch.
A representative from Yeonam University stated, “Through Son Bin-ah’s heartfelt participation and the positive response from her fans, we have confirmed the potential for the university and the local community to grow together,” and added, “We plan to promote various promotional activities based on this ambassador appointment.”
Son Bin-ah, appointed as ambassador, expressed, “I have always been proud of my alma mater, and I am happy to be able to help promote Yeonam University,” and said, “I want to contribute, even a little, to bringing the community and the university closer together.”
In the future, Son Bin-ah will be active in various areas such as official promotional content for Yeonam University, school events, and community-linked projects, contributing to spreading the friendly and open image of Yeonam University.
