Sungmin of the group Super Junior is leaving SM Entertainment.

On the 30th, SM Entertainment announced through an official statement, "The exclusive contract with our artist Sungmin has ended."

They added, "We would like to express our gratitude to Sungmin, who has been with us for over 20 years, from his trainee days to his current activities as an artist, and we will continue to support his music activities and new beginnings."

Sungmin debuted as a member of Super Junior in 2005 and gained popularity with hit songs like "Sorry Sorry," "It's You," and "Mr. Simple." However, after marrying musical actress Kim Sa-eun in 2014, he temporarily halted group activities. In 2019, he transitioned to a solo artist, and since 2023, he has been active as a trot singer.
