The new album ‘合 (HOP)’ by the group Stray Kids is achieving great success on various domestic and international charts, garnering intense popularity.
Stray Kids released their new format album SKZHOP HIPTAPE ‘合 (HOP)’ and the title track ‘Walkin On Water’ on the 13th.
The new work ‘合 (HOP)’, which embodies the musical harmony of the eight members, topped the Worldwide and European iTunes Album Charts from the 13th to the 14th, and as of the morning of the 16th, it reached the number one spot on the iTunes Top Album Charts in 28 overseas regions including Japan and Brazil. On the day of release, it achieved over 1.42 million sales according to the album aggregation site Hanteo Chart, making it a million-seller in just one day.
The new song ‘Walkin On Water’, which symbolizes confidence on stage by walking on water and playing with the rough currents, ranked first on the iTunes Top Song Charts in 25 regions including Mexico and Chile as of the morning of the 16th.
The music video for ‘Walkin On Water’ features a cinematic mood that blends classic style with trendy hip-hop energy, showcasing impressive direction and various visual elements utilizing water, enhancing the viewing experience. Since its release, it has maintained the top spot on YouTube's Trending Worldwide for four consecutive days as of the morning of the 16th, and as of the 15th, it ranked in the top rising videos on YouTube in 43 regions worldwide, including the U.S., U.K., and Canada.
They were selected as the winners in the Top Global K-pop Artist category at the ‘2024 Billboard Music Awards’ held on the 12th (local time). This award ceremony, considered one of the three major popular music awards in the U.S., saw them win the title of Top K-pop Album last year, making them the first 4th generation K-pop boy group to achieve this, and they have now secured the trophy for two consecutive years, further solidifying their position as ‘Global Top Artists’.
Stray Kids also achieved remarkable records in the annual (Year-End) charts announced by Billboard on the 13th, reaffirming their global influence. In the Top Album Sales category, ‘락스타 (樂-STAR)’ ranked 4th, the highest for a domestic artist, and ‘에이트 (ATE)’ ranked 9th. They also topped the World Album charts at 1st and 2nd place, ranked 1st as World Album Artists, and 2nd as Top Album Sales Artists, elevating the group's status.
Continuing their upward trend in the global music market, Stray Kids will carry out various promotions to celebrate the release of their new album. From the 14th to the 22nd, they will hold a pop-up store in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and today (16th) at 2 PM, they will release the remix single ‘Walkin On Water (Remixes)’.
