The husband of the 'Worried Couple' shocked viewers by making abusive remarks even in front of his mother-in-law.
In the episode of JTBC's 'Divorce Reflection Camp' aired on the 23rd, the household investigation of the worried couple was depicted.
On that day, the wife of the worried couple expressed her desire for divorce. During her first call with the production team, she said, "My husband verbally abuses me every day, and just yesterday he said things like 'I wish you would die' and 'XXX,' which made me emotionally distressed and I cried. My husband was also under a restraining order. He tried to set me on fire. He lit a lighter and tried to burn my arm," shocking everyone.
Home camera footage revealing the husband's abusive behavior and violent actions towards his wife was also released. The wife stated, "The home camera was in a blind spot, so it didn't capture everything properly. My husband claims he was trying to set paper on fire, not me. That doesn't make sense given that we live in an apartment." The husband explained, "My wife wrote insults about me on paper and was trying to burn it."
The wife also expressed her struggles with raising twins alone. She revealed that bills keep coming in for her husband, including civil defense fines, car fines, and housing finance corporation bills. When Seo Jang-hoon asked, "Are these things you have paid now?" the husband replied, "Yes." However, the wife countered, "He says he has paid, but there are many bills that keep coming because he hasn't."
Meanwhile, the wife shocked everyone by asking her husband, who was unhappy with her mother's organization efforts, "So you said that mom and daughter are the same?" The wife said, "My mom has been taking care of the twins for over a year. He directly insults my mom when he sees her. My mom said, 'I don't understand why I'm being insulted when I was just trying to help.'
Seo Jang-hoon pointed out, "No matter how angry you are, there are things we should and shouldn't say. This crosses the line. It's unacceptable to verbally abuse someone in front of your mother-in-law, especially when they are not your enemy. Regardless of the reason, this is something you need to seriously reflect on."
The wife expressed her frustration, saying, "Suddenly the camera started rolling, and there are cameras all over the house, so my husband doesn't show his true self at all. Right now, because of the observation cameras, he is really clenching his fists and gritting his teeth to hold back. It's very obvious. What is captured by the observation camera is not his true self. I feel like only about 1/10 of it is shown."
