It has been revealed that famous singer A has been receiving proxy prescriptions for psychotropic drugs, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

According to the police on the 27th, the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul has recently received a complaint requesting criminal punishment for A on charges of violating the Medical Law and has begun an investigation.

The complaint reportedly states that A received prescriptions for psychotropic drugs under another person's name.

In relation to the case, KBS reported that A has been receiving prescriptions for psychotropic drugs from a general hospital in Seoul without in-person consultations since 2022, and that these prescriptions were collected by a manager on A's behalf.

According to medical professionals, the medications prescribed to A are used to treat sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, and depression, and due to their strong addictive nature, it is a principle that they must be prescribed directly by a doctor.

A's agency stated, "Since the COVID period, A has been receiving prescriptions through non-face-to-face consultations, and due to a busy schedule, has continued to receive prescriptions in the same manner." They emphasized that A did not overdose on the medications or use them for purposes other than prescribed.

The police are reported to have conducted a search and seizure at the hospital and plan to investigate the specific circumstances and reasons behind A's actions.
