Actress Sunwoo Yongyeo shared her experiences with racism.

On the 27th, a video titled ‘How Sunwoo Yongyeo dealt with shocking racism during her 8 years in America (Haunted LA)’ was posted on the YouTube channel ‘Sunpoong Sunwoo Yongyeo’.

On that day, Sunwoo Yongyeo revisited the first house she lived in when she immigrated to LA 40 years ago.

Sunwoo Yongyeo recalled, “It was on the 9th floor. To go to the restaurant, I had to take the elevator down, and some American woman saw me, covered her nose, and made a strange sound, saying it smelled like kimchi.”

She continued, “I thought to myself, ‘What the hell is wrong with her, covering her nose when she sees me?’ But as I was going down, she looked at me and did this (finger gesture). I learned later that it was the worst insult, but at that time, I didn’t even know it was an insult.”

Later, Sunwoo Yongyeo encountered the same American woman again and said she retaliated in the same way. She said, “I raised my hand and said, ‘Goddamn! Cheese smell, bad smell. Same!’ and she was flustered, and from then on, her attitude changed,” which brought laughter.
