Actor Ryu Soo-young has graced the cover of the August issue of the monthly women's magazine 'Housewife Life', which is celebrating its 60th anniversary.
'Housewife Life' recently unveiled a photoshoot filled with the freshness and boyish charm of Ryu Soo-young, who has just published his first cookbook, 'Ryu Soo-young's Lifetime Recipes'.
Ryu Soo-young expressed his thoughts, saying, "Recently, I have been doing a lot of advertising and promotional shoots, so it was even more enjoyable to shoot a photoshoot after a long time. The photoshoot is very attractive and fun because I can express myself freely, as I want."
He also did not forget to express his gratitude for the warm response to his recently published book. "These days, it's rare for a cookbook to go into a second printing, so I was more surprised than I expected to see it on the bestseller list after publication, and I am truly grateful," he revealed his special feelings towards the readers.
Ryu Soo-young, who has showcased his unique sense of cooking through various cooking variety shows such as 'Newly Launched Convenience Restaurant' and 'Ryu Student's Eonamseon', presented 79 of his own cooking recipes that anyone can easily and comfortably try through the book.
"There are various channels to learn recipes, but I believe that reading a book and practicing while following it leaves the longest memory, which is why I decided to publish a book," he said. "As I wrote in the preface of the book, I designed the recipes using seasonings and ingredients that are likely to be found in any home, so that even those living in small kitchens or retired fathers can easily try them out."
To achieve this, he considered not only the seasonings and ingredients that people most commonly have but also various cooking environments to come up with the most efficient and quickest ways to create delicious flavors.
Ryu Soo-young, who thinks of cooking as another profession, believes that while acting is difficult, delivering recipes is a 'useful task' that helps people and brings him the utmost joy.
“I enjoy making delicious food that I like, but I find it much more enjoyable when someone eats my food deliciously. If I can be someone who can comfortably say, 'Come over for a meal,' my daily life will become much richer,” he shared his own cooking philosophy.
Ryu Soo-young hopes to have his own space where he can comfortably and casually enjoy simple dishes made from his recipes in the future. More of his stories can be found in the August issue of 'Housewife Life' and the Housewife Life app.
