Han Cho-im openly revealed the reason for wearing a 'lower body exposure dress' at the awards ceremony.
On the 8th, a video titled ‘Upper Body Like Beyoncé but Lower Body Like Mbappé: The Dating Rookie Han Cho-im’ was posted on the YouTube channel ‘Just Jo Hyun-young’. In the released video, singer Han Cho-im appeared as a guest and shared various stories.
On that day, Jo Hyun-young asked, “You managed your schedules all by yourself while doing your singing activities.” To this, Han Cho-im explained, “I think I changed a lot after COVID hit in 2020,” adding, “Before that, there were real-time search terms.”
At that time, she was gaining attention as she frequently appeared in the 'real-time search terms'. Han Cho-im recalled, “Once, I co-hosted the Seoul Music Awards with Kwon Hyuk-soo,” and said, “It was minus 10 degrees, and exposure was a bit of an issue at that time.”
She thought, ‘I have to do something,’ and decided to expose the lower part of her dress instead of the upper part. She even altered the bottom of the dress to resemble a swimsuit. In fact, Han Cho-im appeared as a red carpet host at an awards ceremony in January 2019, wearing a sheer dress with innerwear reminiscent of a swimsuit, which drew attention. The next day, she topped the real-time search terms on various portals, but faced fierce criticism from netizens for being ‘excessive.’
At that time, she stated in a direct interview with Maeil Business Star Today, “I never imagined I would be trending for two days. It was an honor just to be on a big stage, and I’m really happy to receive so much attention through the search terms.”
When asked if it was a ‘deliberate choice,’ she honestly replied, “It was indeed intentional to go out in the cold.” She added, “Since it’s a visible profession, I think it’s great to build recognition and become an issue. I have no regrets and am satisfied with the outfit I prepared with my best effort. I’m even enjoying the negative comments. I see it all as interest and am grateful for it.”
Han Cho-im expressed, “It was a struggle to survive in minus 10 degrees,” but also confessed, “Now, the real-time search terms have disappeared, right? When there were search terms, I wanted to make a splash to get noticed.”
