Shin Hong-sik grew up in a wealthy environment thanks to his father, who made a fortune from a stone factory. His family home was a 280-pyeong mansion, and they were known to be affluent enough to own a TV and a camera 70 years ago.
However, after persuading his father to start a business in his 20s, Shin Hong-sik faced an unexpected accident that resulted in a loss equivalent to the price of an apartment, leading to him being kicked out of his home with only a blanket.
