‘Your Brilliant Season’ has confirmed the participation of Im Lee Mi-sook, Kang Seok-woo, Han Ji-hyun, and Oh Ye-ju, completing its ‘brilliant lineup’.
The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama ‘Your Brilliant Season’ (written by Jo Sung-hee, directed by Jung Sang-hee and Kim Young-jae) depicts an unpredictable ‘brilliant’ romance between a man named ‘Chan’, who lives every day like an exciting summer vacation, and a woman named ‘Ran’, who has locked herself in winter, as they meet by fate and awaken frozen time.
‘Your Brilliant Season’ is a collaboration between the ‘master of refreshing romance’ Jo Sung-hee, who wrote ‘Thirty but Seventeen’, ‘She Was Pretty’, and ‘High School King of Savvy’, and PD Jung Sang-hee, who has been recognized for his delicate directing through ‘Please Send a Fan Letter’ and ‘Wonderful World’. Along with Lee Sung-kyung and Chae Jong-hyeop, the drama has raised expectations among prospective viewers with the addition of Im Lee Mi-sook and Kang Seok-woo, who will serve as the central axis of the story, and the lively chemistry of Han Ji-hyun and Oh Ye-ju.
In the drama, Im Lee Mi-sook plays Kim Na-na, the grandmother of three sisters and a queen representing the global fashion world. Na-na is a first-generation fashion designer who reached the top while raising her daughter alone during her study abroad, and she is a cold warrior who fiercely protects her three granddaughters. However, in an unexpected situation, she reunites with her first love, Man-jae, and welcomes spring back into her once-closed life. There is much interest in how Im Lee Mi-sook will portray the multifaceted emotions of charisma as a designer, the struggles of a grandmother, and a twilight romance.
Kang Seok-woo plays Park Man-jae, a barista who runs a quiet alley café called ‘Rest’ after retirement. He has been a refuge for long-time customer Song Ha-ran (played by Lee Sung-kyung) for many years, maintaining a friendship that transcends generations in his calm daily life. Through Ha-ran, Man-jae encounters his first love, Na-na, again, experiencing forgotten excitement and change. There is anticipation for how Kang Seok-woo will deliver a profound performance in the story of Man-jae set against the warm backdrop of ‘Rest’.
Han Ji-hyun plays Song Ha-young, the second sister and a junior designer in the Na-na Atelier Design Team. With her refreshing personality and hearty laughter, she plays the role of the mood maker in the family. Han Ji-hyun, who has showcased a solid acting spectrum through dramas like ‘I Don’t Want to Lose’ and ‘Cheer Up’, as well as the ‘Penthouse’ series and the movie ‘Face’, is expected to bring charm to the character of Ha-young, who combines cheerfulness and strength.
Oh Ye-ju appears as Song Ha-dam, the youngest of the three sisters and a versatile high school student. Although she is the youngest, she is the most capable and mature among the sisters, making her a perfect granddaughter for grandmother Na-na. However, one day, after 19 years of never causing trouble, Ha-dam’s casual remark turns Na-na’s house upside down, bringing new changes to the drama. Oh Ye-ju, who has emerged as a promising newcomer through ‘Love is a One-Lane Bridge’ and ‘Shuroop’, is expected to create a captivating chemistry with Lee Sung-kyung and Han Ji-hyun, which will be another highlight of ‘Your Brilliant Season’.

Meanwhile, MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Your Brilliant Season’ is ramping up production with the goal of broadcasting in the first half of next year after completing its preliminary preparations.
