Actress Kim Hee-ra has made a stunning return with the musical 'Frida'.
On the 18th, during the first performance of the musical 'Frida' held at Seoul NOL Uniplex Hall 1, Kim Hee-ra perfectly portrayed the fiery life of the artist 'Frida Kahlo' with her outstanding acting skills and explosive vocal talent, receiving a warm round of applause from the audience.
The musical 'Frida' is a show musical that unfolds the last years of 'Frida Kahlo', who lived in pain for her entire life after an unfortunate accident, yet transcended this pain into art and did not lose the joy of life. It captures the final moments of the passionate artist Frida Kahlo, who boldly faced darkness, and conveys a message of passion and healing towards life through her words "VIVA LA VIDA!" that she left behind.
Returning to the stage after two years, Kim Hee-ra expressed the intersecting narratives of pain and passion of Frida with a deeper acting skill that added dimension. In a stage format that unfolds in an interview show style, Kim Hee-ra dominated the stage with her fluent diction, solid vocal strength, and focus that captivated the entire performance. Throughout the uninterrupted 110 minutes, she conveyed Frida's tumultuous life story to the audience with a detailed spectrum of emotions and intense feelings.
In particular, Kim Hee-ra poignantly expressed Frida's deeply scarred life through her art, including the childhood traffic accident, divorce and reconciliation with her husband Diego, and miscarriage.
