The global girl group KATSEYE, under HYBE and Geffen Records, has released their new single 'Gnarly' at 1 PM (KST) on the 30th, opening the door to a new chapter.
'Gnarly' is a song based on the hyper-pop genre, infused with dance and punk elements. The bold and original sound harmonizes with the fierce vocals of the six members and their straightforward lyrics.
A number of global hitmakers participated in the song's production. Led by producer Pink Slip, who has collaborated with world-renowned musicians such as Marshmello, The Chainsmokers, Jason Derulo, and Lauv, the team including Tim Randolph, Bang Si-hyuk, and Slow Rabbit worked together to enhance the musical quality.
With 'Gnarly', KATSEYE showcases their unique color and a more pronounced presence as artists. Their transformation is highlighted in the music video, which features psychedelic direction and a surreal atmosphere.
The music video flows between reality and fantasy. Dreamy images contrast with raw scenes, and the individuality and bold attitude of the six members amplify KATSEYE's multidimensional charm. The fiery performances and striking visuals set against diverse backgrounds maximize the energy of the song, showcasing a side that is 180 degrees different from the lively and lovely image they presented in their previous work.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE will appear on major Korean music shows starting with Mnet's 'M Countdown' on May 1, followed by KBS2's 'Music Bank' on the 2nd, MBC's 'Show! Music Core' on the 3rd, and SBS's 'Inkigayo' on the 4th.
