Composer Don Spike (real name Kim Min-soo), who caused social controversy due to drug use allegations, is embarking on activities for drug prevention.

According to JTBC on the 24th, Don Spike will appear on the political and current affairs talk show 'Genre Man Yeouido' airing on JTBC's YouTube today.

In this broadcast, Don Spike will join former Gyeonggi Province Governor Nam Kyung-pil, who leads the drug prevention and healing organization 'NGU'. He is expected to share honest stories about the reasons for his drug addiction, as well as his treatment and recovery process.

Although this is not a formal return to broadcasting, it draws attention as it marks his first public appearance after being released from a two-year prison sentence in March.

Don Spike was indicted in 2022 for purchasing methamphetamine worth 45 million won on nine occasions and using it 14 times since December 2021. He also faced charges for handing methamphetamine and ecstasy to others on seven occasions and possessing 20 grams of methamphetamine.

The first trial court sentenced Don Spike to three years in prison with a five-year probation, but the prosecution appealed, claiming the sentence was too lenient. However, the second trial court overturned this and sentenced him to two years in prison, which was upheld by the Supreme Court. He was released after completing his sentence in March.
