Actress Kim Geum-soon confessed her past financial struggles.
On the 25th, KBS2's 'New Product Launch Pyeon Restaurant' depicted Kim Geum-soon's daily life.
On this day, Kim Geum-soon said, "I started my married life in Brazil," and added, "At 29, I went to Brazil to meet a friend with my pansori teacher, where I met my ex-husband, got married, and lived there for 10 years. Both of my sons were born in Brazil."
Kim Geum-soon drew attention by revealing that she encountered a robbery while living in Brazil. The robber allegedly grabbed her neck as she got off the elevator and tried to take her second son. Fortunately, the police arrived, and the incident ended without any casualties.
After the robbery incident, Kim Geum-soon returned to Korea. While gradually adapting with the help of family and acquaintances in Jinju, she recalled, "I had to adapt to life in Seoul after moving up from Jinju in a daze." She referred to herself as a livelihood actor.
Kim Geum-soon, who had been on stage for 15 years before marriage, stated that she resumed acting for her livelihood after becoming a mother. She said, "I never thought I would do media acting, not even 0.00001% in my mind. People around me said, 'Try media acting. It's better than living off theater,' so I started taking photos at home to create a portfolio. I got contacted for a short film. I thought, 'I can make a living through acting,' and 'I can cover the kids' side dish expenses,' so I worked hard."
She continued, "When I had no work, I also did part-time jobs. There are expenses just for breathing in life. I did dishes and worked at a chicken shop removing fat from the chicken. The owner asked if I could fry some chicken, so I fried chicken too."
Kim Geum-soon balanced acting and part-time jobs until 4 years ago. She smiled and said, "I don't think I'm special. All parents in the world live for their children."
