The 27th generation of 'I Am Solo' drew attention by revealing their self-introductions.
In the episode aired on the 9th, the real dating program 'I Am SOLO' on SBS Plus and ENA featured the 27th generation of solo men and women gathering in Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do for a 'self-introduction time', showcasing their stunning visuals.
During the 'self-introduction time', Young-soo stated, "I was born in 1986, worked as an actor, then in video production, and after closing my business during COVID-19, I am now working as a licensed administrative agent specializing in food permits." He added, "For long-distance relationships, I can manage up to '2 hours by car'." Young-ho, born in 1987, mentioned, "I graduated from Y University with a degree in mechanical engineering and currently work as a lecturer at an academy," and expressed that his ideal type is someone who can handle silly conversations well. He also shared, "I want to get married by the end of this year or next year," emphasizing his sincerity about marriage.
Young-sik, born in 1990, was a 7th-grade civil servant in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. He mentioned that he moves around the country every 2-3 years due to personnel changes and said, "I want a woman who is strong both physically and financially. The probability of being a weekend couple is high, but that's a good thing," he laughed. Next, Young-cheol, born in 1990, revealed, "I work at a cloud IT company in Busan. I am looking for someone with a pretty T-zone and of an age that is not a burden for childbirth." Kwang-soo, born in 1988, was a general practitioner at a dermatology clinic. A devout Christian, Kwang-soo has hobbies like fitness and kickboxing, and even showcased his unexpected charm by performing Sung Si-kyung's 'The Way to Me' as a talent show piece. Similarly, Sang-cheol, also born in 1988, works at Korea Electric Power Corporation and shared, "I have a romantic notion of holding hands even when we get older." However, he hinted that long-distance relationships would be difficult, saying, "I want to take my love home after a date."
Following the solo men, the solo women also revealed their impressive careers. Young-sook, born in 1989 and a citizen of Australia, works as a marketing manager at a foreign medical device company in Korea and shared her various hobbies, including reading and hiking. Jeong-sook, born in 1992, stated, "I work at a company related to secondary batteries in Pohang," and expressed that long-distance relationships might be okay. Soon-ja, also born in 1992, is a B2G officer who connects people with disabilities to companies, and she playfully mentioned, "My ovarian age came out as 24. I have no worries about 'advanced maternal age'." Young-ja, also born in 1992, works at the Korea International Cooperation Agency and candidly shared that her job requires her to live abroad for about two years due to its nature.
Ok-soon, born in 1991, is a 10-year fashion designer. He emphasized, "I work for an American company but can work remotely from Korea, so I can accommodate my 'future husband'." Ok-soon and her peer Hyun-sook, also born in 1991, work as sales representatives at a foreign pharmaceutical company and revealed that they enjoy various hobbies such as flower arranging, watching baseball, and fitness. Following that, she highlighted her experience as a helper at the Incheon Asian Games award ceremony and her challenge of obtaining a level 2 Chinese character certification, saying, "Even if my partner is avoidant, I can tolerate it for about a week," in a cool manner.
After the 'self-introduction time' ended, Young-soo and Sang-cheol, who were interested in Jeong-sook, hinted at giving up on her due to the 'long-distance issue'. At the same time, Jeong-sook also showed signs of withdrawing her feelings from Young-soo, saying, "I can't force someone who doesn't want to (do long-distance dating)." Shortly after, when Sang-cheol visited the solo women's room, Jeong-sook sent a signal saying, "Let's go outside," and during their '1:1 conversation', she subtly asked about the long-distance issue. Sang-cheol left room for discussion, saying, "I don't know how things might change as we talk." Young-soo and Hyun-sook also had a '1:1 conversation', where Young-soo hesitated, saying, "There is no attraction," despite their values about marriage and living distance aligning well. Young-sik called out Soon-ja, whom he found attractive at first sight, and showered her with 'heart-fluttering comments' like, "You are dazzling because of your beauty." After understanding Soon-ja's planned personality, he appealed, "You are the person I wanted." However, Soon-ja mentioned in an interview with the production team, "Moving every three years to a different region is a bit fatal," expressing her realistic concerns.
In the preview released immediately after, Jeong-sook seemed to hit a 'long-distance wall', sighing, "It really hit me that it changed to self-introduction," while solo women were captured shouting, "I'm lonely!" raising curiosity for the next broadcast.
