Choi Da-hin, a researcher at the Bank of Korea, revealed that 1 million prop banknotes were created for Netflix’s ‘Squid Game 2’.
On the 18th, Choi Da-hin appeared as a guest on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’.
On that day, Yoo Jae-suk asked, “While filming, there are banknotes used as props, aren’t they counterfeit?” Choi Da-hin replied, “That’s correct. Therefore, they must be produced with the approval of the Bank of Korea.”
He continued, “If 100,000 banknotes are needed, we create 100,000 banknotes, and we count them. After filming, if they are returned, we check to see if the 100,000 are still intact and must dispose of them in front of us. If they leak out, they could be misused.”
Yoo Jae-suk said, “I heard that prop banknotes were also produced for ‘Squid Game 2’.” Choi Da-hin stated, “We produced the money that goes inside a piggy bank. That was the largest amount so far. It was 1 million banknotes, so it was a bit of a struggle to count them. The total amount is 50 billion won,” which drew surprise.
Meanwhile, ‘You Quiz on the Block’ airs every Wednesday at 8:45 PM.
