'Good Boy' has dramatically revealed its secondary character teaser video showcasing chaotic relationships.
JTBC's new weekend drama 'Good Boy' (written by Lee Dae-il, directed by Shim Na-yeon) is a comedic action youth investigation drama about medalists who became police officers through special recruitment, wearing police badges instead of medals, fighting against a world filled with dishonesty and rule-breaking.
This work, which has garnered attention for the collaboration between director Shim Na-yeon, who won the TV drama award at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards for 'Monster' and directed the critically acclaimed 'Bad Mom', and writer Lee Dae-il, known for his unique genre works like 'Life on Mars' and the 'Advisor' series, is highly anticipated.
The second teaser video released on the 8th reveals the relationships surrounding Park Bo-gum, heightening interest. "On that hot day," our heroes were boxing gold medalist Yoon Dong-joo (Park Bo-gum), shooting gold medalist Ji Han-na (Kim So-hyun), fencing silver medalist Kim Jong-hyun (Lee Sang-yi), wrestling bronze medalist Ko Man-sik (Heo Sung-tae), and discus throw bronze medalist Shin Jae-hong (Tae Won-seok).
However, beyond the glorious past, the reality of these individuals, now part of the Special Investigation Team, is quite 'bittersweet'. Moreover, as they come together as a team, chaotic situations arise.
First, the team leader of the Special Investigation Team, Ko Man-sik, mercilessly calls Yoon Dong-joo "a mutt" and expresses his dissatisfaction. While he complains about having to take care of Yoon Dong-joo, who was demoted to a police officer after causing a series of incidents, he also finds himself instinctively flinching in front of the boxing gold medalist's fists. Despite this, the playful bickering between the cheerful Yoon Dong-joo and his 'accident handler' Ko Man-sik brings laughter.
Next, Shin Jae-hong, wearing a large Pororo costume, stands on the street. He works as a traffic safety assistant to support his family's livelihood. In the meantime, he joins the Special Investigation Team to earn promotion points and is expected to become a reliable older brother to Yoon Dong-joo.
On the other hand, Kim Jong-hyun reunites with Yoon Dong-joo as his eternal rival. When Yoon Dong-joo boldly asks, "Since when did you dislike me so much?", Kim Jong-hyun firmly replies, "I hated your smile." Moreover, his complicated gaze towards Ji Han-na (Kim So-hyun) creates a peculiar atmosphere. This is understandable as Ji Han-na is Yoon Dong-joo's first and last love.
Reuniting in the Special Investigation Team, she catches Yoon Dong-joo off guard with the direct question, "Do you still like me?" Yoon Dong-joo, who becomes a clumsy man in front of her, and Ji Han-na, who confesses her complicated feelings by saying, "Am I intoxicated by the heat, or by something worse, or am I just crazy?", create a subtle romantic tension that excites viewers.
Finally, Yoon Dong-joo, who lives by the principle of "not living with shame," stands before injustice and clenches his mouthpiece again. He declares, "If you can run away, try to escape. Anyone who stands in my round is always down," showcasing both the spirit of his athlete days and his sense of duty as a police officer.
Thus, Yoon Dong-joo, along with Ji Han-na, Kim Jong-hyun, Ko Man-sik, and Shin Jae-hong, has come together as the Special Investigation Team 'Good Avengers'. Although their presence in the police department may be pitiful, they plan to dedicate themselves to realizing justice even in the absence of the spotlight. The delightful teamwork of 'Good Avengers', blending laughter, emotion, action, and romance, has skyrocketed expectations for the upcoming broadcast.
JTBC's new weekend drama 'Good Boy' will premiere on May 31 at 10:40 PM and will be available to global viewers through the streaming service Amazon Prime Video.
