Broadcaster Han Seok-jun (50) revealed the story of his remarriage to his photographer wife and shared the reactions from those around him.
On the 17th, Han Seok-jun appeared as a guest on KBS2’s ‘Problematic Men in the Rooftop Room’ along with Kim So-young.
On that day, Han Seok-jun drew attention by saying that he opposed the marriage of Kim So-young and Oh Sang-jin in the past. He said, “I opposed marriage itself. At that time, I was in a pit after my divorce, so I discouraged it.”
He continued, “Oh Sang-jin is a style that suits marriage well. His life is exemplary. Oh Sang-jin lives in Hawaii time,” adding, “Now I do not oppose it. Seeing this couple live well made me decide to get married (remarry) and I am living well,” which brought laughter.
Han Seok-jun married announcer Kim Mi-jin in 2006 but divorced in 2013. After that, he remarried a photographer 12 years younger than him in 2018 after a year of dating, and they have one daughter together.
Han Seok-jun mentioned about his current wife, “I met her while working. I went to an event instead of a junior, and she was the photographer who came to sketch the event. She was pretty but too busy to talk, so I could only see her from afar, and when I got home, I thought of her the next day.”
He continued, “After that, I ended up meeting with the studio representative and a brother who works with me. I said, ‘Why should I go there?’ but the brother showed me, ‘This person is also there,’ and it was my wife,” adding, “It was a gloomy time, and I thought I would never marry again. When I met her and talked, she said she was a proponent of single life. I thought it was great. After dating for a while, I thought, ‘Isn’t it just dating?’ After three months, I said that marriage is not important, but I decided that you are the love of my remaining life.”
He also mentioned, “I discouraged marriage so much that when the news of my marriage came out, I received a lot of calls.”
Additionally, he shared, “While driving with my wife, I received a call on speakerphone. Actor Lee Jin-wook said, ‘Didn’t you say not to get married?’” which made everyone laugh.
