PD Choi Seung-hee commented on the ratings of ‘The Seasons’.
On the 11th, a presentation for KBS2’s ‘The Seasons - Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile’ was held at the KBS New Hall Art Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. PDs Choi Seung-hee, Son Ja-yeon, and Choi Ji-na, along with actors Park Bo-gum and Melomance’s Jung Dong-hwan, attended.
PD Choi Seung-hee addressed the low ratings in the 1% range, stating, “I’ve seen many articles about the ratings and I’m thinking deeply about it. On Friday nights at 10 PM, dramas worth hundreds of millions are being aired. Our production budget is from 30 years ago. We are doing this with the mindset of preserving the essence of music programs.”
He continued, “If ratings were the only important thing, we wouldn’t be able to introduce newcomers at this time slot. The identity and meaning of music programs are important. We are consistently introducing newcomers and meaningful individuals, and we place significance on providing them with a stage to perform,” adding, “I am reflecting deeply on the ratings and contemplating it.”
‘The Seasons’ began in 2023 with ‘Jay Park’s Drive’, followed by ‘Choi Jeong-hoon’s Night Park’, ‘AKMU’s Onal O’Bam’, ‘Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet’, ‘Zico’s Artist’, and ‘Lee Young-ji’s Rainbow’, featuring various unique singers as MCs discussing music with guest artists.
Park Bo-gum has consistently shown his love for music through his acting activities, participation in OSTs, music releases, and musical performances. Although he has proven his excellent hosting skills as an MC for ‘Music Bank’ and as a host for the ‘Baeksang Arts Awards’ and ‘MAMA’, this is his first time as an MC for a regular music program.
‘The Seasons - Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile’ will premiere on the 14th at 10 PM.
