On the 2nd of this month, the ‘2024 SBS Acting Awards’ took place at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The Grand Prize trophy was awarded to Jang Nara, while the Directors' Award went to Park Shin-hye. Additionally, the Best Acting Award in the seasonal drama category was awarded to Kim Nam-gil and Lee Ha-nee, the Best Acting Award in the mini-series genre/action category went to Ahn Bo-hyun and Jeon Mi-do, and the Best Acting Award in the mini-series human/fantasy category was awarded to Kim Jae-young and Nam Ji-hyun.
SBS received love from viewers this year with numerous works such as ‘Chaebol X Detective’, ‘Seven’s Resurrection’, ‘Connection’, ‘Good Partner’, ‘Judge from Hell’, and ‘Hot Blooded Priest 2’. ◆ “I can't believe it”... Jang Nara sheds tears for the Grand Prize
Jang Nara, who won the Grand Prize, opened her speech by saying, “I can’t believe it.” She continued, “I feel like I am experiencing something amazing in my life at SBS. Thank you. Meeting the ‘Good Partner’ team has allowed me to experience this. I am very grateful to the director, the writer, and my fellow actors, especially Nam Ji-hyun, who was a pillar of the drama and my pillar as well. And I love my husband, who loves me no matter what I look like,” as she shed tears.
She added, “I realized very late after becoming a celebrity, but I wish I had known sooner. I have come to understand how miraculous it is that people I don’t even know like me as I’ve grown older. Thank you so much, viewers. I want to remain a curious actor. I will really, really work hard,” expressing her overwhelming feelings.
◆ Lovebird Park Shin-hye “♥ Thank you, Choi Tae-joon, for always supporting me”
Park Shin-hye, who won the Directors' Award, said, “I want to thank the director for creating a good environment for me to play the role of Binna. He supported me when I was struggling or tired. Although he says he is happy to be my man, I think I was able to shine thanks to Kim Jae-young,” showing an emotional moment.
She continued, “I received the Best New Actress Award at the SBS Acting Awards 21 years ago, and I believe I can receive a big award here today thanks to the fans who love the drama. Jung Yoo-min, who won the Best Supporting Actress award in the seasonal drama category for ‘Connection’, started her speech by saying, “I want to express my gratitude for being able to be part of such a good project.” She continued, “This year has brought many good things. I got married while working on ‘Connection’, and today I came with my baby in my belly. The baby’s nickname is Blessing. I hope everyone here and those watching on TV will also receive blessings,” revealing her pregnancy.
◆ ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ Kim Young-ok “I hope my juniors show their talents until they are 100”
Kim Young-ok, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, said, “Being invited to this place feels more like a gift to see the shining juniors rather than an award. I am very grateful,” and added, “Many people say I am a role model. I will accept this as a compliment for enduring for a long time. I don’t know if this is a blessing or a curse, but we are in the 100-year era, right? I hope to show my talents in various fields until then. Seo Hyun-woo, who won the Best Supporting Actor award in the seasonal drama category for ‘Hot Blooded Priest 2’, said, “I was happy but also burdened when entering season 2 after watching season 1 of ‘Hot Blooded Priest’ diligently. I want to thank the fellow actors I worked with,” as he shed tears. He continued, “After 15 years since my debut, I stand here at the year-end awards ceremony, and I want to thank my parents who have always supported me. It’s difficult to greet you with new characters every time, but I always seek advice from my colleagues. I will share the glory of this award with the people I love,” expressing his overwhelming emotions.
◆ “The country is chaotic, but”... Ji Seung-hyun and Kwon Yul mention the impeachment situation
Ji Seung-hyun, who won the Best Supporting Actor award in the mini-series human/fantasy category for ‘Good Partner’, said, “I want to apologize to Jang Nara and Yoo-na for making them angry on set. I’m nervous being up here. I think we worked on a really good project together. The country is chaotic, but I hope everyone here can spend a happy year-end with their own good partners,” he said.
Kwon Yul, who won the Best Supporting Actor award in the mini-series genre/action category for ‘Connection’, said, “I didn’t put much meaning on the award, but receiving it makes me very happy.
