A sizzling and daring fake dating show, ‘Adieu Solo,’ is coming to heat up this summer.
Breaking the limits of existing dating reality shows, the new genre of romantic reality short-form drama ‘Adieu Solo’ (created by Kim Sung-soo, directed by Kim Han-ra, written by Kim Young-chan) features Wanna One's Yoon Ji-sung, SF9's Baek Joo-ho, actors Moon Jin-seung and Yoon Jong-bin, Dal Shabet's A-young, Miss Korea Choi Seo-eun, and actors Song Seo-rin and Shin Soo-ah.
Set against the backdrop of a luxury resort in Pattaya, ‘Adieu Solo’ is a fake reality drama where eight young men and women engage in a romantic survival game that blurs the lines between sincerity and pretense, ideals and reality. With a dazzling lineup of special talents including idols, actors, models, and Miss Korea, ‘Adieu Solo’ has completed its on-location filming in Pattaya, Thailand, and is eagerly awaiting its meeting with viewers in the first half of the year.
Incorporating extreme concepts such as a third-generation chaebol worth billions and a divorcee with a hidden shocking story, ‘Adieu Solo’ is expected to showcase a more stimulating taste of romance than existing reality dating programs.
This work, combining the fun of romantic survival with dramatic direction, is anticipated to provide an immersive experience as if viewers are directly playing a ‘dating simulation game’ occurring in a love metaverse (Love + Metaverse) that blurs the boundaries between virtual and reality.
‘Adieu Solo’ is set to be interestingly developed by the collaboration of director Kim Sung-soo, known for the delicately exploring human nature and detailed direction in the drama ‘Save Me,’ and writer Kim Young-chan, a master of black comedy who penned the films ‘The Secret is Out’ and the ‘Family’s Honor’ series, presenting a fresh concept of a virtual dating show that traverses the line between reality and fiction.
The production company Arc378 Studio introduced it as “a daring entertainment drama that adds fake elements to the contradictions and imperfections occurring in real romance, posing the question of what true love means to the youth of our time.”
They further stated, “The various dating styles of young men and women, the intricately tangled emotional lines, and the conflicts and contradictions arising between reality and ideals will stimulate new curiosity and dopamine for viewers tired of similar concepts in dating entertainment.”
‘Adieu Solo’ will be available on various OTT channels in the first half of 2025.
