Lee Jae, the singer who composed the global hit song ‘Golden’ for the Netflix original animated film ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ (K-Demon Hunters), expressed his desire to collaborate with BTS member Jungkook.
In an interview segment aired on JTBC’s ‘Newsroom’ on the 19th, Lee Jae named Jungkook as the artist he would like to produce.
Lee Jae stated, “First of all, in K-pop, I want BTS, especially Jungkook,” and directly sent a love call to Jungkook, saying, “Jungkook, please collaborate with me. Thank you,” while looking at the camera.
He continued to praise Jungkook, saying, “He sings so well, and I want to write a good melody for Jungkook,” adding, “While singing, it’s important to deliver the lyrics well. He sings so well.”
He further complimented Jungkook’s abilities, saying, “You express and handle that melody so well with your voice.”
On that day, Lee Jae shared his thoughts on ‘Golden’ achieving number one on the Billboard charts in the U.S., saying, “I still can’t believe it. It feels like a dream,” and added, “I cried a lot while recording ‘Golden’. There were many difficult things at that time. I put some of my story into the song, and I resonated a lot with the character Lumi.”
He expressed his affection for the song, saying, “The song lifted me up. While singing, I gained confidence and hope.”
In conclusion, he shared his aspirations, saying, “I want to create songs as an artist and grow as a composer. I want to work with composers I respect.”
Meanwhile, ‘K-Demon Hunters’ is a story about the K-pop girl group Huntress defeating a boy group made up of evil spirits called Lion Boys to protect the world with their songs. The song ‘Golden’, in which Lee Jae participated in composing and singing, has consistently been loved, achieving a total of 8 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S.
