Bae Jung-nam broke down in tears as he watched his dog Bell enter the crematorium.
In the episode of SBS's entertainment program 'My Ugly Duckling' aired on the afternoon of the 19th, Bae Jung-nam was seen sorrowfully crying after recently saying goodbye to his dog Bell.
On this day, Bae Jung-nam appeared as the first "ugly duckling." Before heading to the crematorium, he walked through the rehabilitation center with his limp Bell to recall their last memories together. He couldn't hold back his tears as he reminisced about the time spent with Bell, saying, "We used to play here. Should we take a look at the swimming pool one last time?"
The representative of the rehabilitation center comforted him, saying, "Bell loved the grass the most. Let's put him down on the grass one last time," and Jung-nam gently stroked Bell, replying, "It's nice, but let's stay a little longer." Later, other dogs that played with Bell came to say their final goodbyes, including Kapa, who had a special bond with Bell and was also howling.
Upon arriving at the funeral home, Jung-nam said, "Sending Bell off seems to be the hardest thing in my life. In the past, I never even thought about the possibility of parting. It was too painful. I saw Bell's last moments through a video call," he told the representative. The representative replied, "He was in such good condition that day. He was sunbathing and eating well. I thought, 'Shall we go inside now?' but after taking five steps, he just sat down. Then he completely collapsed sideways. Usually, with CPR, you should come back within 3-5 minutes," explaining how Bell said goodbye in an instant.
The representative comforted Jung-nam, saying, "Bell heard your voice until the end. He must have been happy." Jung-nam expressed his deep feelings for Bell, saying, "I've never cried this much in my life. Thankfully, he went without pain."
As he said his final goodbye to Bell, Jung-nam tearfully said, "I'm sorry, Dad... I'll live well. Thank you, I love you. Go rest well, don't be in pain. Don't be in pain anymore. Thank you for coming to me. I love you so much."
Watching Bell enter the crematorium, Jung-nam cried out, "What if it's hot? He must be lonely inside, and scared all alone."
The second "ugly duckling" featured Lee Jang-woo, Jung Joon-ha, and Yoon Si-yoon. It turned out that the three were a food-loving family who traveled to find delicious places. Jung Joon-ha and Lee Jang-woo prepared a homemade salmon cake and a barbecue feast to celebrate Yoon Si-yoon's birthday.
The first course was a pot lid pork belly weighing 10 kg. Yoon Si-yoon asked Lee Jang-woo, "Aren't you supposed to manage your weight?" but Lee Jang-woo replied, "No, eat a lot, you bastard," as he grilled the meat. The three of them devoured the pork belly in no time, despite their worries.
The second course was pot lid budae jjigae. When Yoon Si-yoon said, "I feel abnormal every time I come to this gathering," Lee Jang-woo remarked, "It's creepy sharing a room with him. Si-yoon asked, 'Which room do you want to use?' I took the end room, and Si-yoon took the bed next to the bathroom, but he made it look brand new! He organized everything so that nothing was visible and hid all his stuff... I was out of breath when I entered," expressing his admiration for Yoon Si-yoon's neatness.
Jung Joon-ha commented, "You two remind me of Noh Hong-chul and Jung Hyung-don. Hong-chul is so neat, and Hyung-don is so messy," to which Yoon Si-yoon replied, "I'm not as neat as Hong-chul hyung."
The third course was dessert, grilled octopus with large intestines. When asked how he met his girlfriend, Lee Jang-woo said, "I was filming the drama 'My One and Only' and Hye-won was a minor character. We filmed for nine months, and about seven months in, when I was really exhausted, Hye-won appeared like a shining light. I thought, 'I wonder who her boyfriend is?' So I decided to make a move and approached her right away."
He continued, "I found Hye-won's SNS and thanked her for appearing in the drama. I asked if she wanted to grab a meal, but it took two days for her to reply. She probably thought I was a weird person and a fake. Her reply was, 'Are you really who you say you are? I don't have a boyfriend,' so I immediately sent her my phone number. After that, we went to eat at a cafe in Namyangju."
Lee Jang-woo added, "The wedding will be officiated by Ki-an 84, and the congratulatory song will be sung by Hyun-hee." He recalled an episode, saying, "We were in Busan, and Hye-won came in the early morning. Si-yoon and I went to the hotel to prepare a cake in advance. I still can't forget my sister-in-law's expression."
The last "ugly duckling" featured Yoon Hyun-min and Choi Jin-hyuk. Yoon Hyun-min said, "My younger sibling's wedding is in a week. I'll sing the congratulatory song," revealing that his younger sibling is getting married. He added, "My younger sibling's wish is to get a signature from Son Heung-min, so I'm trying to find a way to get it," as he searched for a shop filled with Son Heung-min merchandise.
However, unable to purchase any items they liked, the two decided to obtain Son Heung-min goods through an acquaintance. Choi Jin-hyuk called Shin Dong-yeob, who humorously replied, "Then I'll call Son Heung-min. If you give me his number," making everyone laugh.
On the day of Hyun-min's younger sibling's wedding, Yoon Hyun-min admired his well-dressed sibling, saying, "You look handsome," and gifted them a cash envelope and honeymoon clothes.
During the wedding, he prepared a small gift for his sibling and played a video. In the video, Choi Jin-hyuk candidly shared, "I tried to get a signature from Hyun-min and Son Heung-min, but it was tough because he's a world-class player," which made everyone laugh.
