Actor Bae Jung-nam is engulfed in sorrow after saying goodbye to his dog.
On the 19th, the SBS entertainment program ‘My Ugly Duckling’ depicted the farewell between Bae Jung-nam and Bell, who crossed the rainbow bridge on the 29th of last month.
Bae Jung-nam had been sharing Bell's rehabilitation process on his personal SNS and in entertainment shows. Bell, who underwent surgery for acute cervical disc disease in 2022, miraculously recovered but recently had surgery for a malignant tumor, muscle cancer. It was later reported that Bell suddenly passed away from a heart attack.
Upon hearing the news of Bell's passing, Bae Jung-nam visited the rehabilitation center and shed tears continuously. He held Bell in his arms and said, “Wake up, are you sleeping?” then wept, saying, “I’m sorry, Dad. Just stay a little longer. You’ve worked hard,” which moved viewers.
While watching the VCR, Seo Jang-hoon said, “(Bae Jung-nam) received the news while filming a drama,” and added, “He left Bell at the rehabilitation center and couldn’t see her directly because they were far apart. The director of the center connected them via video call to say goodbye.”
Upon arriving at the funeral home, Bae Jung-nam said, “Sending Bell off seems to be the hardest thing in life,” and added, “I’ve never cried this much in my life. Fortunately, she went without pain.”
While saying his final goodbyes, he cried, “I’m sorry, Dad. Live well. Thank you, I love you. Go and rest well, don’t be in pain. Thank you for coming to me. I love you so much.”
