The agency of the group SEVENTEEN has announced that they are continuing legal action through ongoing collection of evidence regarding malicious commenters.
On the 17th, the agency Pledis Entertainment (hereafter Pledis) stated, "We are seriously aware of the situation where numerous malicious posts containing excessive insults and the spread of false information targeting SEVENTEEN are being published," and provided an update on the progress of the lawsuits.
Pledis revealed, "First, in the recent regular lawsuit and the lawsuit regarding the leak of artist information, the charges against the identified defendants have been acknowledged and have been forwarded to the prosecution, and we are waiting for the results of the disposition."
According to Pledis, they are currently collecting evidence by monitoring overseas social media, domestic communities, and music sites comprehensively.
In particular, they have initiated legal action against multiple accounts that have repeatedly posted malicious content on X (formerly Twitter). Pledis stated, "We are currently proceeding with relevant legal procedures, including requests for information disclosure to overseas courts such as those in the U.S.," and expressed their intention to continue their response.
Additionally, they mentioned that they will explore all legal means to ensure that punishment can be carried out without any leniency or settlement.
