CJ CGV is stepping up to promote the mental health of young people.
On the 18th, CJ CGV announced that it will hold an open mic event called 'Mind ON STAGE' for the mental health of young people at the CGV Myeongdong Station Cine Library on the 25th at 7 PM.
This is a MINDSOS mental health campaign project aimed at helping young people who experience social isolation and loneliness connect with each other and open up their hearts. The mental health campaign brand MINDSOS is organized and hosted by the mental health company Mindful Connect, with CJ CGV as the official sponsor and the Just Peace Foundation as a partner. Through this collaboration, the three organizations aim to work together to alleviate social isolation and build a community of emotional support offline.
At 'Mind ON STAGE', participants will have the opportunity to take the open mic stage set up in the CGV screening room and share their stories freely. If desired, they can wear masks or disguises to participate anonymously. Audience members attending as listeners can empathize with various stories, share support, and find comfort for their hearts.
Mindful Connect will invite experts from various fields such as mental health, psychological counseling, and neuroscience as 'representative listeners' to ensure that participants' experiences and emotions are deeply understood. This event will feature Jang Jae-yeol, a psychological counseling expert and author of 'Reconnect - Everyone Becomes Alone at Least Once,' as a representative listener.
Participation in 'Mind ON STAGE' is free, and anyone aged 15 and older can join as a speaker (presenter) or listener (audience). Registration is available until the 23rd through the 'OPEN MIC' tab on the Mindful Connect website.
CJ CGV's ESG Management Team Leader Jo Jeong said, "CGV has long conveyed emotion and comfort to people through the medium of film," and added, "I hope that this 'Mind ON STAGE' will serve as a warm shelter and a strong safety net for the mental health of the local community."
Mindful Connect's CEO Ryu Hye-won stated, "It is meaningful to create a special mental health culture with CJ CGV and the Just Peace Foundation through 'Mind ON STAGE,' which is designed for young people to share their emotions in a safe environment and experience emotional connection," and added, "We will continue to hold open mic events to expand the space for communication so that more young people can find comfort and hope within the network of emotional connections."
