The group Kiss of Life is set to solidify their title as ‘Summer Queen’ with a hot new song.
On the afternoon of the 9th, a showcase was held to celebrate the release of Kiss of Life's mini album ‘224’ at Yes24 Live Hall located in Gwangjang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
‘224’ is the new release from Kiss of Life, coming about 8 months after their mini album ‘Lose Yourself’ released in October last year. It tells the story of a person's self moving from oppression to liberation through the flow of time, described as ‘today, tomorrow, and forever’.
On this day, member Julie expressed, “As we have returned after 8 months, we have really worked hard on this album. We ask for your great expectations and love.” Natti added, “After learning a lot during our first world tour, we prepared this album diligently.”
Following this, Kiss of Life presented the stage for their title track ‘Lips Hips Kiss’. The choreography, infused with Kiss of Life's unique alluring charm and addictive lyrics, captivated the audience.
‘Lips Hips Kiss’ is an R&B hip-hop genre song reminiscent of the early 2000s, singing about the emotions of falling for each other. With a sophisticated melody and sensual lyrics, this track highlights a feminine mood, characterized by a development that is neither excessive nor boring.
Kiss of Life stated, “If ‘Sticky’ evoked the freshness and brightness of summer, we have tried something different with this title track ‘Lips Hips Kiss’. We plan to show a sticky and new kind of hotness, and we hope many people will like it.”
Having previously created a challenge craze with hit songs like ‘Sticky’ and ‘Igloo’, Kiss of Life said, “You can look forward to the challenge for ‘Lips Hips Kiss’. The choreography is perfect for challenges. We have prepared it diligently, so we would appreciate it if fans and the public could follow along.” Members Julie and Natti then showcased a standout choreography using the straps of their outfits and heel dance moves, capturing attention.
They also shared their thoughts on obtaining the title of ‘Summer Queen’. Kiss of Life expressed, “We are really happy,” adding, “We want our listeners to enjoy our music so that summer can become their favorite season. We hope to become a group that comes to mind when thinking of summer.”
‘224’ is the first album released without the participation of creative director Lee Hae-in, who has been with Kiss of Life since their debut album. Regarding this, Kiss of Life explained, “This time, we increased the members' participation. We have grown a lot by sharing and communicating our opinions with each other.”
Finally, Kiss of Life expressed their desired titles and goals for this album, saying, “We want to hear ‘R&B King’ and ‘R&B Queen’,” and added, “Our big goal is to achieve first place on music shows. It would also be great to rank high on the music charts.”
Kiss of Life's mini album ‘224’ will be released on various music sites at 6 PM on the same day.
