The group Stray Kids has made its mark on the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) annual global chart for three consecutive years, shining as a 'Global Top Artist'.
According to an announcement made by the IFPI on the 18th (local time) through its official website and social media channels, Stray Kids ranked in the Top 10 in three categories: the 2024 'Global Artist Chart', 'Global Album Chart', and 'Global Album Sales Chart'. The IFPI's global charts rank based on annual physical album sales, digital music downloads, and streaming figures worldwide.
Stray Kids secured the 5th position on the 'Global Artist Chart', successfully ranking for three consecutive years since their first entry in 2022. They achieved 10th place on the 'Global Album Chart' with their mini-album 'ATE'. Stray Kids, who have made a significant impact on this chart with 'Maxident' in 2022 and 'Five Star' and 'Rockstar' in 2023, proved their popularity by making it to the Top 10 again this year.
On the 'Global Album Sales Chart', they placed both of their albums released last year in the rankings. 'ATE' ranked 5th, while 'SKZ-PLAYER: Hiphop' which entered the Billboard 200 at number one for six consecutive weeks, also ranked 6th, marking their third consecutive year on the chart. Previously, Stray Kids achieved 4th place with 'Maxident' and 8th place with 'Ordinary' on this chart, recording the highest rankings for a 4th generation K-pop group and being the only group to place two works in the Top 10. In 2023, 'Five Star' and 'Rockstar' also achieved 2nd and 5th places, respectively, reaching the top performance for a 4th generation K-pop group.
Recently, Stray Kids has been brightening the new year with good news, including surpassing 30 million copies in album shipments in Japan and Korea, being nominated for the iHeartRadio Music Awards for two consecutive years, and receiving their eighth gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. After successfully completing their fifth official fan meeting 'SKZ Five O'Clock' from February 14 to 16 at Incheon Inspire Arena, they will embark on a large-scale stadium tour as part of their world tour 'DOMINATE' starting in March.
Beginning with the Santiago Estadio Bicentenario La Florida on March 27-28 and continuing to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on July 30, the tour will be grandly held in 22 regions across Latin America, Japan, North America, and Europe, totaling 34 performances. Stray Kids is expected to attract 2.2 million audiences worldwide with this tour, boasting 'its largest scale' and setting a new record for the 'most attendees for a single K-pop tour'.
