Actors Jo Woo-jin, Jung Kyung-ho, Park Ji-hwan, and Lee Gyu-hyung dream of being 'Lion Boys' in their 40s through the new work 'Boss'.

At the production report conference for the movie 'Boss' (directed by Ra Hee-chan) held at Megabox Seongsu on the morning of the 1st, Jo Woo-jin said, "I felt like I could try something new as an actor. I thought it was a good opportunity because it was a work and genre I had never done before."

He mentioned that he had a significant aftereffect from filming his previous work 'Harbin', saying, "It was a heavy and deep character, so I needed healing. I was very happy to receive the offer at that time, and although everyone wants to revere him as a boss, the character actually wants to conquer the nation not with fists but with skills, which was attractive." He added, "I think we might be the 40s version of the 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' Lion Boys."

'Boss' is a comic action film depicting the desperate competition among organization members who fiercely 'yield' the boss position to each other for their own dreams, ahead of the selection of the next boss that determines the future of the organization.

Above all, Jung Kyung-ho, who was sincere about 'Tango', said, "I only had 4 months to practice, so I really put in a lot of effort. When I sent the tango practice videos, they praised me saying 'You are good'."

He explained, "Since 'Kang Pyo' loves to dance, the movie starts from there, so I focused a lot on tango. It was really not easy." He added, "Originally, the character was supposed to be into piano, but 4 months was too short to prepare for it, so I discussed with the director and changed it to tango. But tango was not easy either."

He expressed, "I think tango is an attractive dance. If you haven't tried it, I would recommend it. It feels like you will get hot and fall in love. It's such an attractive dance that in foreign countries, they say you dance tango just by making eye contact."

Jo Woo-jin also shared, "My character dreams of being a Chinese chef, so I prepared a lot in advance," and mentioned, "I learned from Chef Park Eun-young, a 'Chinese master', how to handle fire, make noodles, and wok cooking," surprising everyone. He added, "They are people I met before 'Black and White Chef'. I'm nervous about how they will view this movie."

Lee Gyu-hyung said, "I played an undercover cop named Tae-kyu. While reading the script, I found it to be a very well-flowing script from start to finish. The role I had was very attractive," he laughed.

He particularly noted, "Being undercover for 10 years, I felt a sense of identity confusion, and it was fun to observe from the perspective of an observer. The action is boldly and interestingly depicted, so I felt it would be amazing to implement it on screen."

He also introduced, "Tae-kyu is a police officer who was sent to uproot the family gang 10 years ago. He is a character that follows the lineage of 'Infernal Affairs' and 'New World'," adding, "For 10 years, he has been the right-hand man of Sun-tae, spending time delivering black bean noodles with a steel bag. He is a character who experiences identity confusion."

Furthermore, he emphasized, "I made a lot of effort not to lose the weight and tension of 'Infernal Affairs', 'The Departed', and 'New World'. I have been maintaining a sub-character for a long time, which can be confusing. The steel bag, which is Sun-tae's right-hand man, has its own story for Tae-kyu to live the life he wants. I also wanted to show that Tae-kyu grows through this incident."

Jo Woo-jin, Jung Kyung-ho, Park Ji-hwan, and Lee Gyu-hyung star in the film, which is set to be released this Chuseok.
