Kim Do-hyun, the sister of singer Kim Da-hyun and a former member of the girl group Pastel Girls, is transforming into a trot singer.
On the 3rd, her agency Hyun Company announced, "Kim Da-hyun will change her stage name to Jin So-ri and debut as a trot singer."
Jin So-ri, along with her younger sister Kim Da-hyun, made her debut as a singer during elementary school by releasing the song "Gyeongsanhanne" at the summit of Hallasan, becoming known as the "Cheonghakdong Traditional Music Sisters."
Since the age of 4, she has studied pansori and traditional Korean studies under her father, Kim Bong-gon, and has attended the National Traditional Arts Middle and High School to learn pansori. Currently, she is majoring in pansori at Dongguk University while also being active as the main vocalist of a girl group for five years, showcasing her versatility as a singer.
Ahead of the release of her first regular album "Uhwa" (羽化), Jin So-ri stated, "After studying pansori for 15 years and performing on numerous stages, I wanted to find the true sound and share it with many people," explaining the meaning of her name and the reason for her stage name change. The new album will include a total of 12 tracks, including the title song "Sul-sul Pulrine."
Kim Bong-gon, who personally planned and produced the new album "Uhwa," introduced it by saying, "This first regular album is composed of various genres of songs that capture deep emotions with Jin So-ri's clear and pure voice, imbued with her unique sentiment," and requested attention.
