Kim Chang-yeol (51), a member of the group DJ DOC, expressed his apologies to his son and shed tears.
On the broadcast of Channel A's entertainment show 'Close Friend Documentary Four-Person Table' on the 1st, Kim Chang-yeol invited his close friends R.ef's Sung Dae-hyun and vocal trainer Park Sun-joo to talk with MC Park Kyung-rim.
On that day, Kim Chang-yeol revealed, "I started many businesses in clubs, restaurants, and entertainment, but I failed a lot," and added, "The food truck did well, but my business partner betrayed me and took the money. One of the reasons for my failure was that I couldn't manage it well while balancing my singing career."
Despite this, he continued to challenge himself in business, stating, "I wanted to be a dad my son wouldn't be ashamed of."
Kim Chang-yeol, who got married due to premarital pregnancy at the age of 29, confessed, "I wasn't prepared when Joo-hwan was born," and added, "Because I rushed into marriage, I wasn't fulfilling my roles as a father, husband, and head of the family at all."
Kim Chang-yeol's son also appeared. 21-year-old Kim Joo-hwan is currently studying Korean Language and Literature at Yonsei University. He particularly caught attention with his 190cm height and handsome looks.
Sung Dae-hyun remarked, "He doesn't resemble his dad at all," to which Kim Chang-yeol responded, "I guess the genes are like stepping stones. My father was from Yonsei."
As Kim Chang-yeol talked about his past efforts to work hard for his son, his close friend Park Sun-joo said, "Joo-hwan saved Chang-yeol," which made him tear up.
He said, "Joo-hwan is my tear button. Who would have thought he would grow up so wonderfully? I haven't done anything for Joo-hwan, but my close friends say that's the best thing I've done," expressing his frustration.
Kim Chang-yeol got married in 2003 and has one son and one daughter.
