
SEVENTEEN member Jun will showcase his acting skills alongside global stars such as Jackie Chan and Tony Leung in the Chinese film 'The Shadow's Edge'.
According to Pledis Entertainment on the 19th, Jun will play the role of Hu Feng (胡枫), a key member of the villainous group Yang Zha Dan, in 'The Shadow's Edge' (捕风追影), which is set to be released within the year.
'The Shadow's Edge' is a crime investigation film that depicts the fierce confrontation between a notorious criminal organization and the police pursuing them. Legendary action star Jackie Chan plays a veteran police officer, while Tony Leung portrays Hu Feng's adoptive father and the film's main villain. Directed by Larry Yang, who is well-known for the film 'The Sound of the Mountain', which was selected as the closing film of the 2015 Busan International Film Festival, the movie is also familiar to domestic fans.
In 'The Shadow's Edge', Jun will take on the role of a villain and showcase his dazzling action performance. Having trained in martial arts during his childhood, expectations are high for the type of action he will display in the film. His collaboration with Jackie Chan and Tony Leung is also drawing attention. Notably, Jun is set to play the role of Tony Leung's adoptive son, suggesting that viewers can look forward to their strong acting chemistry in the film.
Jun made his film debut in 2006 with 'The Dog', winning the Best Newcomer Award at the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild the following year, and he became the first Chinese child actor to be nominated for Best New Actor at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 2023, he won the Popularity Award at the Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards during the Busan International Film Festival for the youth romance drama 'Exclusive Fairy Tale (独家童话)', and he has been expanding his spectrum by taking on roles in the fantasy comedy period drama 'The Joy of Returning (云归喜事)' last year.
Jun continues to be active as a member of SEVENTEEN. On the 5th, he made a surprise appearance on stage for 'Very NICE' at the 39th Golden Disc Awards held at the PayPay Dome in Fukuoka, Japan, receiving an enthusiastic response. He also shared the joy of winning the Grand Prize and Main Award in the album category with his members, stating, "I dedicate this honor to our ever-supportive CARATs (the fandom name)."
