As it was revealed that Moon Won, the fiancé of Koyote's Shin Ji, is a divorcee with children, fans have expressed concerns about their marriage.
On the 2nd, a video titled “Who is going to take our Shin Ji?” was released on the YouTube channel ‘What’s Up?!?’.
On that day, Shin Ji introduced Moon Won to the members. Moon Won mentioned, “I can’t choose outfits myself, so she always helps me,” and Shin Ji added, “Just yesterday, I told him to pick out what he would wear for today, and he said he had something in mind. But he came out in sweatpants and a t-shirt. I asked, ‘Are you really going to go dressed like that to tell the members something important?’ and he changed his clothes.”
Moon Won initially protested, saying, “It’s a pretty tracksuit,” but then admitted, “(Shin Ji) likes neat things,” and changed his outfit.
Shin Ji said, “Today is a proper introduction of (my fiancé) to the members. I have something serious to say. It’s something they need to know.”
In response, Moon Won said, “I think I should say it myself,” adding, “It’s something that might surprise you. Many people know me as her boyfriend or fiancé. I didn’t realize Ji Sun (Shin Ji’s real name) was such a famous person.”
Kim Jong Min asked, “Did you just see her as a woman?” and Moon Won replied, “I just saw her as a woman. I thought I should treat her well, and I felt I needed to live diligently without making mistakes.”
He continued, “Actually, I was married once and have a lovely daughter. My ex-wife is raising her, but we communicate and try to care for the child.”
Baek Ga asked, “You have a daughter?” and then, feeling uncomfortable, said, “I’ll go to the bathroom,” and left the room.
Moon Won explained, “At first, Shin Ji didn’t know, but as we got closer, I thought I should be honest,” revealing the information later. He added, “The words ‘I can embrace you because I like you’ gave me strength.” Shin Ji responded, “I can only imagine how much I struggled with that. It must have been hard for you.”
Moon Won also added, “I will make an effort for Ji Sun in the future, so please watch over us.”
As this information became known, fans have been sending quite negative reactions. Comments on the video include, “I was anxious the whole time watching the video,” “He’s 7 years younger than Shin Ji, but he calls her Ji Sun and elevates his ex-wife,” “Does it make sense to talk about it only when the relationship deepens?” “Baek Ga and Kim Jong Min looked very anxious too,” “Comments are pouring in every second, are you watching?” “Let’s pretend this never happened,” “I oppose this marriage,” “It doesn’t make sense that he didn’t know Koyote as a singer, so what can we believe?” “Even in this short video, it’s not hidden,” “I shouldn’t meet a man who needs me to make excuses for him,” “With 8,000 YouTube subscribers, the video got 1 million views in a day, and there are 30,000 comments. Don’t you see how much people care for and love Shin Ji?”
Additionally, one netizen introduced themselves as “a friend of the ex-wife” and posted, “Ask to review the divorce records. You’ll be really surprised.”
