Netflix will hold a press screening for all episodes 1-7 of the highly anticipated global series ‘Squid Game’ Season 2. It is literally an all-day screening.

On the 2nd, Netflix announced, “We will host a press screening of all episodes of ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 at the Megabox Coex in Samsung, Seoul, from 10 AM to 6 PM on the 23rd.”

This is the first time that Netflix content will be screened in theaters in South Korea, where events related to ‘Squid Game’ are being held extensively worldwide.

‘Squid Game’ Season 2 tells the story of ‘Gi-hun’ (Lee Jung-jae), who returns to participate in the game seeking revenge, and his fierce confrontation with the ‘Frontman’ (Lee Byung-hun), as the real game begins again. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who led the first season, will once again take charge of directing, writing, and producing, with returning cast members including Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. New cast members include Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee Seo-hwan, Jo Yu-ri, TOP (Choi Seung-hyun), and Oh Dal-soo.

In the main trailer for Season 2 released by Netflix on the 27th, the reason for the winner Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) to challenge the game again is revealed. Gi-hun demands to be allowed to participate in the game again, wearing the participant number 456 that he had in Season 1.

His goal this time is not to win the game but to end it. He tries to inform and unite the participants, who are desperate for money like he once was. However, the participants, blinded by money, do not listen to Gi-hun.

The confrontation between the game organizer, the Frontman (played by Lee Byung-hun), and Gi-hun is also foreshadowed. Gi-hun repeatedly expresses his determination, saying, “I’m trying to stop the game,” but the Frontman coldly replies, “The game won’t end as long as the world doesn’t change.” Gi-hun’s desperate aura, crying out, “We have to fight those who created this game,” heightens expectations for Season 2.

With the risk of cast members like TOP already being labeled as unpopular in South Korea, attention is focused on whether ‘Squid Game 2’ can continue the phenomenon of the first season through the power of its content.

Meanwhile, ‘Squid Game’ created a global phenomenon through the story of people participating in a mysterious survival game with a prize of 456 billion won, risking their lives to become the last winner. It was the first non-English language drama to win an Emmy Award in the United States.
