Actress Nam Kwon-ah mentioned the changed perceptions she has experienced since appearing in Netflix's ‘Poksak Sogassuda’.

On the 12th, the YouTube channel ‘One Mic’ released a video titled “‘Facial asymmetry negative comments turned into praise’.. ‘Poksak’ housekeeper, a scene-stealer's surprising story”.

In the video, Nam Kwon-ah, who appeared in the Netflix original ‘Poksak Sogassuda’, shared her thoughts. She played the role of the housekeeper Je-ni, who helps Geum-myung (played by IU), who is falsely accused of stealing a ring. The famous line “It’s better not to be upset together” has received a lot of love as shorts on YouTube and other platforms.

Nam Kwon-ah said, “People ask, ‘Is it Poksak? That ring?’ I am unintentionally living a celebrity life. I have never experienced being recognized on the street. I feel embarrassed because it’s extreme I,” mentioning that she has been recognized more often recently.

In the past, Nam Kwon-ah struggled with negative comments about her appearance. She said, “I have cried and felt upset after seeing negative comments, saying ‘I won’t act anymore.’ I have a bit of a handicap (facial asymmetry), so what is shown first is not my acting,” reflecting on how those comments hurt her.

She continued, “The worst comment was, ‘The world has changed. Even with that face, she can be an actress.’ This is ultimately about facial asymmetry. ‘Poksak Sogassuda’ saved me. People say I am different from other actors. It changed the negative comments. I am really grateful,” expressing her affection for the work.

Nam Kwon-ah mentioned her collaboration with IU, saying, “I felt like I succeeded. It’s IU!” and joked. She added, “IU expresses the concerns and struggles of the younger generation of that era very well. I thought, how can she act so perfectly? She is wonderful both as an actress and as a person.”
