The production team of ‘Sadangui’ has apologized for KBS announcer Kim Jin-woong's 'sub' remark.
On the 27th, the production team of KBS2’s ‘The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears’ (hereinafter referred to as Sadangui) stated, “We sincerely apologize for causing concern and discomfort to many due to the content of last week's broadcast.”
They continued, “We will do our best to ensure that such incidents do not occur again by paying more careful attention throughout the entire production process.”
The ‘Sadangui’ production team added, “Once again, we deeply apologize for disappointing many, and we will take this incident as a lesson to provide a more responsible and mature broadcast.”
Announcer Kim Jin-woong received criticism for his rude comment during the broadcast of ‘Sadangui’ on the 24th, where he said, “I can't live like my senior Do Kyung-wan. It may be disrespectful to my senior, but I can't live as someone’s sub.”
Jang Yoon-jung later expressed her displeasure on her personal SNS, saying, “We don’t have a close relationship, but still. Words or actions that make the other person unable to laugh cannot be packaged as jokes or pranks. There is no sub among family.”
Kim Jin-woong posted a personal apology on SNS, stating, “I still lack experience and feel that this opportunity has come to me as a precious chance, so I was overly eager and not cautious. As a result, I ended up saying something I shouldn’t have. I deeply felt how much hurt thoughtless remarks can cause. I will always remain vigilant to ensure this does not happen again.”
Afterward, Jang Yoon-jung said, “He contacted me through my number to convey his apology,” and added, “It must have taken courage to apologize, and I believe we should accept his apology considering his feelings.”
Do Kyung-wan also stated, “Our couple's appearance may seem one-sided to someone. However, we respect and care for each other and live relying on each other strongly,” and expressed, “I felt upset that this incident seemed to have hurt our family and those who love our family, but I hope no one else gets hurt because of this.”
