Veteran actor Lee Soon-jae (92) has been surrounded by health concerns after it was revealed that he declined a hospital visit from Park Geun-hyung. In the midst of this, his agency denied the rumors, stating that there are plans for future activities.
On the 19th, the representative of Lee Soon-jae's agency explained in a phone call with Maeil Business Star Today, "Mr. Lee Soon-jae is currently hospitalized for rehabilitation treatment due to weakness in his legs," adding, "There are no other health issues at all."
At a press conference for the play 'Waiting for Godot' held at Yes24 Stage in Jongno-gu, Seoul, actor Park Geun-hyung mentioned Lee Soon-jae's current situation, saying, "I tried to visit him several times, but he was reluctant, so I couldn't see him in person," and added, "I hear from others, and it doesn't seem to be a good situation."
In response, he stated, "As an actor, he probably doesn't want to be seen in a hospital gown, so he politely declined the visits," and dismissed the health concerns as "not true at all."
Lee Soon-jae participated in the premiere of the play 'Waiting for Godot' last September but had to leave midway. Regarding this, the agency representative explained, "He felt weak during the performance. He is currently receiving rehabilitation treatment, but at 92 years old, his recovery is a bit slower than younger people."
Despite being 92 years old, Lee Soon-jae is a veteran actor who has been actively involved in dramas, movies, and theater. His passion for acting remains strong.
The agency representative mentioned, "There are plans for him to appear in a movie," and added, "The schedule is somewhat delayed until he can walk comfortably on his own after recovery."
Born in 1935, Lee Soon-jae debuted in the drama 'I Want to Be a Human' in 1956 and has been loved as a 'national actor' for about 60 years.
