The Netflix documentary ‘I Am a Survivor’ has garnered significant attention, ranking No. 1 in domestic viewership just three days after its release.

On the 17th, Netflix announced that ‘I Am a Survivor’, which was released on the 15th, topped the list of today’s TOP10 series in South Korea.

The ‘Today’s TOP10 Series in South Korea’ ranks the most-watched works among domestic Netflix users. It is unusual for a documentary to take the top spot, as dramas and entertainment programs typically dominate the rankings.

‘I Am a Survivor’ is a sequel to the sensational work ‘I Am God’, which caused a stir when it was released in 2023. The previous season also captured attention by ranking 5th globally and 1st in South Korea.

While Season 1 ‘I Am God’ focused on perpetrators involved in shocking cults and incidents in Korea, such as JMS Jung Myung-seok, Oh Dae-yang Park Soon-ja, and Agadong Mountain Kim Gi-soon, this season emphasizes the stories of victims, or ‘survivors’, who suffered at the hands of these perpetrators.

The series consists of 8 episodes, documenting the testimonies of survivors from four incidents, including JMS, Busan Brothers Home, the Jisunpa incident, and the collapse of the Sampoong Department Store.
