Singer Moon Won clarified after announcing legal action against malicious content ahead of his marriage to Koyote's Shinji, which sparked controversy over claims that he was suing Koyote and Shinji fans.
On the 17th, Moon Won posted on social media, stating, "Many people seem to have misunderstandings, so I am leaving this message. I am not suing the fans who care about Koyote seniors and Shinji."
He continued, "As stated in the lawsuit, I have only sued those who created malicious content, those who initially spread false information, and a few individuals who sent personal messages with personal attacks or made it difficult to speak about family," adding, "I ask that excessive speculation be restrained."
Earlier, on the 16th, Moon Won said, "Malicious and false information is spreading like wildfire, causing many to suffer. Therefore, I will take legal action," and released a statement from his legal representative, law firm DLG.
The legal representative pointed out, "Since the news of Moon Won and Shinji's marriage became known, false information has been indiscriminately spread through online communities, social media, and YouTube, and baseless speculation and sensational content are also spreading."
They also stated, "Some users have repeatedly sent severe insults and personal attack messages to Moon Won's personal social media account, causing serious mental distress," and "On August 5, we filed a criminal complaint against the relevant authors regarding certain matters that caused significant damage on behalf of Moon Won." They emphasized, "In the future, if the spread of false information and the creation and distribution of malicious content are confirmed, we will respond decisively."
As this news spread, some pointed out that Moon Won was taking legal action against Koyote and Shinji fans, prompting him to clarify just a day later.
Meanwhile, Shinji announced her relationship and marriage with Moon Won last month. However, online, Moon Won has been embroiled in various allegations, including "bullying during school and military service," "premarital pregnancy and cheating allegations with his ex-wife," "changing his name three times," and "real estate fraud."
In response, Moon Won admitted to operating without a real estate agent's license and marrying due to premarital pregnancy with his ex-wife, but denied the other allegations.
