Singer Shawn has completed 81.5km for six consecutive years on Liberation Day.

The '815 Run', now in its sixth year, honors the sacrifices and dedication of independence activists and conveys a message of hope: "It will be okay, South Korea!" The entire participation fee is used to improve the living conditions of the descendants of independence activists, and this year saw a record participation of 19,450 people (4,000 offline / 15,450 virtual).

The '2025 815 Run' was divided into a 'Virtual Run' held from August 1 to 15 and an 'Offline Run' held at Sangam World Cup Park on August 15.

Participants in the Virtual Run chose their preferred distance (3.1km / 4.5km / 8.15km) and ran freely from various locations across the country, then verified their runs through Naver Happy Bean, blogs, and Instagram.

On Liberation Day evening, 4,000 runners participated in the Offline Run at Sangam World Cup Park, running 8.15km together, and a special concert featuring Shawn, So-hyang, and others provided an emotional experience.

Shawn, the ambassador for the 815 Run campaign, completed the 81.5km in 7 hours, 50 minutes, and 21 seconds, delivering an inspiring race despite the hot weather.

Forty-five pacers were divided into teams of five to run alongside Shawn, with participants including Lee Young-pyo, Yoon Se-ah, Kwon Eun-joo, Jin Sun-kyu, Ko Han-min, Jo Won-hee, Jung Ji-hyun, Lim Se-mi, Choi Si-won, Im Si-wan, Lee Si-woo, and Lee Yeon-jin contributing their support.

A total of 2,348,506,344 won was raised from the full participation fees and sponsorship from over 110 companies, with all proceeds going towards housing improvement projects for the families of independence activists.

Shawn expressed, "Someone among us needs to convey gratitude to the independence activists. Building homes with gratitude is what the 815 Run is all about. I thank all the runners who shared their hearts with us."
